Meetings & Bids

City Council Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of every month, except July and August. The July meeting will be July 16th and the August meeting will be August 13th for 2025.

Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Board meet the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am at City Hall.

Planning & Zoning Commission meet the second Thursday of each month at 5:30pm at City Hall.

Design Review/Historical Preservation Committee meet the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at City Hall.

The Council of the City of Canfield will hold a public hearing on May 6, 2026 @ 5:30 PM at 104 Lisbon Street, Canfield, Ohio regarding: New Ordinance §1151.01 (O) Permitting Outside Storage in B-2 Zoning Districts. Copies of this ordinance are available in the Clerk of Council’s Office M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm.

      ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

                                           for the City of Canfield

      Glenview Drive Culvert Replacement

      Bids for the above referenced project will be received at the City of Canfield at the City Administration Building, 104 Lisbon Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406 for the above-mentioned project until 10:00 a.m. on April 8, 2026 at which time they will be opened and read aloud in Canfield City Council Chambers.   

      This project includes the removal and replacement of an existing corrugated metal pipe culvert with a new 9’x7’ open sided box culvert with reinforced concrete wingwalls and headwalls. Miscellaneous other improvements including roadway repair and guardrail replacement are included as part of the project.

       Electronic Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by email request only to the contact above. No hard copy bidding documents will be provided by the issuing office.

      Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.  Each bidder must be a registered plan holder with ms consultants, inc. to be eligible to submit a bid for this project.

      The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. Bids for the above-described work must be submitted on blanks furnished with the bidding documents.  Said bids must be submitted as one original and one copy.

      All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty made payable to the City of Canfield in the form of either:

                  (1)        A bond for the full amount of the bid, or

      (2)        A certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305, Ohio Revised Code, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount pursuant to Chapter 153 of the ORC.

      The Engineer’s Estimate of Probable Construction Cost for this project is provided in the bid documents.

      Each individual employed by the Contractor any Sub-Contractor engaged in work on the project under this contract shall be paid the prevailing wage established by the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio.  This shall occur regardless of any contractual relationship that may be said to exist between the Contractor or any Subcontractor and such individual.

      All contractors and sub-contractors involved with the Project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of the Project.  Additionally, the contractor’s compliance  with the Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972 and the Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. 

      Each bid submitted must include a current copy of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Certificate of Compliance as evidence that the bidder is certified by the State of Ohio.

      The Non-Collusion Affidavit of Prime Bidders must be completed and submitted with all bids.

      The resurfacing of base bid streets will be paid in part with a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission.  As a result, domestic steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Revised Code apply to this project.  Copies of Section 153.011 of the Revised Code can be obtained from any of the offices of the Department of Administrative Services.

      ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
      for the City of Canfield
      C.H. Campbell Elementary School
      Water Service Improvement

      The City of Canfield, Mahoning County, Ohio will receive sealed bids for the above mentioned project
      until 10:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the City Administration Building, 104
      Lisbon Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406 for furnishing material and performing the labor for the execution of
      the above mentioned project for General Contract. The bids so received shall then be publicly opened and
      read aloud immediately thereafter in Council Chambers.
      The Base Bid Project includes the replacement of approximately 1,000 linear feet of 6” waterline and
      appurtenances. Temporary bypass is anticipated to be a requirement of the construction process.
      Miscellaneous improvements such as pavement repair, sidewalk repair, and site restoration are included.
      The Engineers Estimate is provided in the bid documents.
