PRESS RELEASE-UWUA LETTER TO RESIDENTS

The City of Canfield was made aware of a letter that was sent to residents from the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 425 on behalf of hourly employees in the City of Canfield. The City of Canfield respects and appreciates the work of our Public Works Department.

That letter contains inaccurate and incomplete information regarding conduct and proceedings of the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations.

• UWUA does not represent all hourly City employees, only six (6) members within the Public Works Department.

• The City has not been found to have engaged in any misconduct with respect to the labor negotiations.

The City of Canfield Council and management remain dedicated to providing services to our citizens, and will continue to do so.

If you have questions or would like to discuss the letter you received or the proceedings of the City of Canfield and UWUA please contact any of the City Council members or the City Manager.
