5/28/19 Flooding Event -Mahoning County EMA Update
Please see the Media Release from Mahoning County EMA Office just received this morning.
MAY 28TH FLOODING EVENT
YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Mahoning County EMA is coordinating with Ohio EMA on the potential of being included in the FEMA Disaster Declaration that was requested for the tornados that occurred in SW Ohio. Due to the severity of the damages from those storms as well as the flooding that occurred in Mahoning County, it is anticipated that this process will take several weeks to coordinate with FEMA.
The potential inclusion in the FEMA Disaster Declaration would provide assistance to residents and businesses that sustained major and/or destroyed damage during the May 28th flooding event. For residents and/or businesses that do not meet the FEMA criteria, SBA low interest loan assistance would be available.
